MPP Michael Coteau, Don Valley East

Father God, we ask your blessing upon Michael Coteau, Liberal MPP for Don Valley East, and upon his family. We thank you for the past expression of his heart in leadership as School Trustee and Cabinet Minister where he sought to do justice, enhance literacy, build better student nutrition and strengthen the community by making school space more accessible. We pray You increasingly unfold to him Your creative vision and wisdom so that, in unity with all the parties of the Legislature, his voice may continue to help express Your good will in our province.

Michael Coteau was first elected in 2011 as the MPP for Don Valley East. He has served as Minister of Children and Youth Services, as well as Minister Responsible for Anti-Racism. Previously, he was Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, as well as Minister Responsible for the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games, and before that, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration.  Michael grew up in Don Valley East and attended Don Mills Middle School and Victoria Park Collegiate Institute. He holds degrees from Carleton University in both Political Science and Canadian History. He and his wife Lori live in Toronto with their two daughters, Maren and Myla.
